Part VII - We were created to spread genuine love…

"There is no greater joy nor greater reward than to make a fundamental DIFFERENCE in someone's life"                          Sister Mary Rose McGeady

I want to begin today's blog with a dare… Are you ready?

I dare you to do something nice that will make someone around you smile… If you need ideas maybe you can start off by helping them with something, you can give them a genuine compliment… how about bringing them coffee and a doughnut? There are so many ways to make someone smile and their days and yours will be better.

Have you noticed that enthusiasm is contagious? Walk into a room dragging your feet and showing misery and you will be responsible for the misery in others… but if you bring the sunshine on your back and you spread smiles all day long watch yourself become the hero/heroine of the day.

This is really a day by day thing. This is nothing but a practical way of living. Sometimes stuff happens and we are human. Life is not always a smooth ride. Trick here is when we feel our weakest we lean in the most, we pursue, and we fight. We do not surrender… we do not go back. We stay and endure (I will talk about endurance later).

How can we do this when we feel undeserving or far from being enough? What keeps us far from God is that there is no room for mistakes if we choose to believe in Him. We are afraid of being judged and of falling from standards we set for ourselves and the ones that have been set for us. However, when we learn and accept the truth that Jesus was born in a town called Bethlehem, was a true friend and loved anyone despite their social or moral standards, and lived until 33 years of age when he died to give His life so that our mistakes (whatever size, shape, or form) would not cost us an eternity without getting to know Him… then we can become even more bold to stay firm and continue to lean in despite any of our flaws. That's where the beauty in all of this fact is found.

When we know of this, how can we stay quiet? How can we not share the news we have learned, and how could it be that we will not spread genuine love to others like the love that was given to us?

I encourage you wherever you find yourself today: If you need love and acceptance despite your mistakes, lean in and persevere. God is not mad at you... he did everything because he madly loves you and no one will turn you away I promise! If you have accepted this love and sometimes catch yourself believing that you are more deserving or better than others, I encourage you to tune in to the real love and share it with as many people around you as you can.

Let me know how it goes… 😉
